Fall is definitely the season for foodies, and if you’re calendar wasn’t full already, Walt Disney World Resort has added yet another gastronomical gathering to the list. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel will host its sixth annual Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic Oct. 30-31. The two-night event will showcase the culinary prowess of the Epcot Resort Area hotel with more than 40 food and wine stations, as well as 10 food and wine seminars. New to this year’s event is a food truck area, featuring cuisine from the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel and Cabot Cheese – a favorite from last year – as well as an exclusive beverage truck. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to meet award-winning chefs, including celebrity chef Todd English. “This event is a way for us to celebrate our love of food, wine and beverage with others who share that same passion,” said Tony Porcellini, the hotel’s director of food and beverage, in a prepared statement. “What continues to bring back people year after year is the one-of-a-kind, fun, street-party atmosphere our guests enjoy.” Events like these help showcase Central Florida’s culinary scene and bring more visitors to the resort, helping boost the region’s $60 billion tourism industry. It also brings more locals out to the upscale dining venues. The food stations this year will feature selections from the hotel’s signature restaurants: Shula’s Steak House, Il Mulino New York Trattoria and Todd English’s bluezoo. This year’s menu also introduces new dishes such as ginger-cured Hamachi with nitro lime, mascarpone chestnut ravioli with Italian sausage, celery root and bacon jus, and smoked Wagyu short ribs with a parsnip puree, melba toast and pommery mustard sauce.
